On Wednesday, Ojai Valley School student leaders presented a check for $630 to the Humane Society of Ventura County, delivering the proceeds from Ojai Day sales to the Ojai animal shelter.
This money was raised by OVS students on Ojai Day by selling pottery made by Jody Cooper, the former ceramics instructor at the Upper Campus.
The students earmarked the money for the Humane Society as it is a sacred place to the Ojai community and one of the school’s longest-standing community service projects.
OVS Community Service Representative Eugene
Fisher and Student Body President Alexander Manning traveled to the Humane Society on Nov. 1o to hand over the check.
“Getting to see the animals that we’re going to be helping is a great feeling,” Alexander said.
