The OVS golf season has begun, with the Spuds coming out of the gate looking dialed in to win their first four matches.
On Feb. 28, five varsity OVS golfers lined up at the hole #10 tee box at Soule Park Golf Course to compete against their Beacon Hill counterparts. The Spuds took that first match in a runaway, winning by 45 strokes; 250 – 295.
Since then the OVS golfers have earned themselves another three wins, one more against Beacon Hill, another against Villanova and the final win coming Monday against Santa Clarita Valley International.
The OVS players are ecstatic about their play so far, including senior Logan Daily, who is captain of the team.
“With competition, it’s always fun to come out on top,” Logan said. “I think the first matches really set the tone for the rest of the season so I hope we can continue to win, and I’m excited to see what is coming.”
The players have been posting solid scores in their matches, especially Logan who has been under 40 strokes every game.
The players are all incredibly pleased with the way the season has unfolded so far, as is their coach Nancy Sackett.

“I’m just so excited about this season and it’s so great to see all the golfers so thrilled and ready to go, so it’s been very fun,” Mrs. Sacektt said.
The Spuds on the golf course are looking skilled and hope to keep up their momentum in future competitions. OVS is next scheduled to take on Santa Clarita Valley International again in a match scheduled for Monday, March 28.
