Ojai Valley School hosted its second Omega League cross country meet on Wednesday, with most of its runners showing big improvements.
The three same schools that competed in the first meet — OVS, Newbury Park Adventist Academy and Hillcrest Christian School — competed for the second week in a row.
The boys team won its race for the second week, with freshman Ben Manning placing third, his brother, junior Alexander Manning, placing fourth and sophomore Emanuel Zagata-Jacobsen finishing fifth, improving his time by two minutes.
On the girls side, freshman Emma Watanabe ran her first cross country race of her life, posting a solid time.. The girls were led by OVS sophomore India Getty-Pruss, who improved her time by one minute on the tough, three-mile Pi course.
“It’s very cool to see these runners from all of the schools, working hard and improving so much,” said OVS cross country coach Mr. Alvarez. “That’s what cross country is all about, and i’m really happy that these athletes are getting the chance to show what they’re all about.”
