Construction crews are scheduled to begin demolition of the Upper Campus’ west hill, which includes the remains of the Girls Dorm, the Science and Technology center and other buildings lost to the Thomas Fire.
On January 5 and 6, students, parents, alumni, and teachers came together to create "The Village," which houses the new girls' dorm and various classrooms. Volunteers readied The Village and the rest of the campus for the students' return January 7.
Marie Samson, new faculty member, is bringing the French language back to OVS in a big way, joining Spanish in the language class offerings at school. This is the first time in years OVS has an official French class at school, with students in previous years taking an online class.
During the first community service opportunity of the school year, OVS students of all ages embarked on a beach cleanup trip. The outing allowed students to help local wildlife while also learning the importance of taking care of the environment.
