After getting off to a rough start to the season, the OVS boys baseball team earned its first win on Wednesday, defeating Gorman Learning Center 15-3.
OVS was blown out the first time it played Gorman, but the boys learned from that outing and mercied Gorman in six innings on the Spuds home field.
Nine batters drove in runs, and 7 of the 9 starters had hits. Sophomore Jonathan Castagnini went 3 for 3 with a walk, which is a great performance on the team, and a star performance for him personally.
Senior pitcher Dongkeon Kim pitched the entire game, only allowing three runs on two hits, a great performance considering he pitched with a bleeding and blistering finger.
The boys will close out their season today on their home field against Newbury Park Adventist. The game is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
