In its second league meet of the season, OVS continued its dominance in Omega League cross country, with the boys and girls teams handily earning first place finishes on OVS’s hilly and hot home course on Wednesday.
On the girls side, OVS took three of the first four places, led once again by sophomore Prudence Currey-Schafer, who won her second league meet in a row. The other two runners, junior Elizabeth Ramsay and senior India Getty-Pruss, finished second and fourth respectively.
On the boys side, OVS took six of the top ten places. Senior Logan Wallace brought home second place, sophomore Shuhei Kotani came in third and senior Emanuel Zagata-Jacobson took fifth place. Junior William Ramsay came in sixth, followed by Andrew Little and Oliver Ayala in eighth and ninth places.
Elizabeth Ramsay said the Pi course run was particularly difficulty given the nearly triple digit heat.
“It was definitely really hot, and I was nervous because it was my first time running all of Pi from the field,” she said. “But at two miles, I kind of got used to it and honestly I was ready to be done.”
The next meet is next Wednesday at Griffith Park.
