
The Ojai Valley School baseball team won its first game of the season Tuesday, beating Newbury Park Adventist Academy 8-4 in the league opener.
Sophomore Johnathan Duke scored three, which including stealing home in the fourth inning.

When he wasn’t at bat, he switched between pitching and catching. On the mound, Duke pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing two hits and striking out eight.
Sophomore Nolan Colborn also helped secure the win, allowing one hit and striking out nine. He also scored the first run of the game.
OVS next plays Thursday against Einstein Academy at 7 pm in Santa Clarita, its first game under the lights.
