In his first year as OVS Upper Headmaster, Craig Floyd has had a lot to deal with, including losing a portion of his beloved school to the Thomas Fire, a school that has played an important role in his life since high school.
After the Thomas Fire broke out on Dec. 4, countless students were evacuated from the Upper Campus, but along with them went the equine residents of the campus, which were moved multiple times during the weeks of the fire.
On January 5 and 6, students, parents, alumni, and teachers came together to create "The Village," which houses the new girls' dorm and various classrooms. Volunteers readied The Village and the rest of the campus for the students' return January 7.
