Seasons Cut Short

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, one crucial aspect of many people's lives is being greatly affected: sports. From amateurs to professionals, athletes have had their passions put on hold. Hear from three high school seniors whose last varsity seasons have been called off.

Baseball is Back!

The OVS baseball team opened its season this week with two non-league contests, dropping a competitive game to Nordhoff High School before posting a convincing win against Cate School.

From Home Runs to Homeroom

Ryan Pearman looks only a couple years older than a high school kid. And this year he is in high school. But as a teacher, not as a student. Mr. Pearman is one of this year’s newest members of the OVS faculty, teaching several classes in addition to helping with athletics and coaching baseball.

Field of Dreams

Senior Connor Floyd has recently been featured in Under Armour's Baseball Factory Player of the Month Profile. He was chosen because of the hard work, perseverance and dedication that he put into his training in an effort to make is collegiate baseball dreams a reality.

One-and-OH!

The Spuds unleash an offensive explosion to win their baseball season opener. Seniors Masaki Takamatsu, Connor Floyd and Matt Gustafson combined for eight hits, while junior Satoshi Suzuki threw five strong innings to secure the win.
