HomeSportsGirls’ Volleyball On A Roll admin October 4, 2012 Sports The Ojai Valley School girls’ volleyball team has been on a roll over the past couple of weeks, notching three straight wins against the Midland, Hillcrest Christian and Cate schools. The team’s match against Cate took place over the past weekend, with the girls traveling to face Cate’s junior varsity squad. The Upper Campus team rose to the occasion and was able to take down the Cate girls. Seniors Sierra Stingl and Samantha Ruffin led a solid defensive unit with 3 blocks each. The Spuds were also able to generate a strong offensive push with senior Mia Carmen serving 10 straight points and her teammates rallying to keep the offensive possession alive. Senior Taylor Aronow praised her teammates following their third straight win. “We are definitely coming together and working as a team,” Taylor said. “We are individually becoming better players, but at the same time, we are building better team chemistry. Our production speaks for itself. Hopefully we can keep this streak on track and take a few more wins.” The Spuds travel to Besant Hill on Saturday to try for their fourth consecutive victory.
