College Bound

As May 1 rolled around, OVS seniors joined students across the country in choosing where they would spend the next four years of their college lives. As with senior classes in previous years, students in the Class of 2017 at Ojai Valley School will attend a diverse collection of colleges and universities across the country.

Opening Lines of Communication

Students in Spanish 3 Honors use Skype to connect with Spanish speakers in Oxnard as part of a new initiative to use technology to help build speaking skills. Through rapid-fire questioning, students in both classrooms learned plenty about each other.

Battle of the Bands

OVS students recently participate in the Ojai Valley Relay for Life Battle of the Bands, a benefit concert to raise money for the Ojai event. OVS freshman Avery Colborn (left) took first place in the epic battle, while seventh grader Beckett McDowell took third place.

Something to Crow About

Rooster artwork painted by sophomore Wendy Lazo-Dowdy was selected to be sent to families across the globe in honor of the Chinese New Year. Each year, OVS celebrates the holiday, known as the Spring Festival or Chinese New Year, by sending postcards to Chinese families.
