Ojai Valley School second grader Zayd Davis, along with his sister and cousins, put their evacuation time to good use last week, making and selling bracelets to raise money for an OVS classmate who lost his home to the Thomas Fire.
Varsity runners opened the season this week with some solid running on the three-mile course at Cate School. The tough Upper Campus Pi Course will host the opening meet of the Condor League cross country season on Oct. 5.
The Ojai Valley News has launched a new monthly initiative to compile and publish stories by high school students throughout the Ojai Valley. OVS students helped layout the inaugural issue and contributed five stories to the effort.
